Secure Trips ("we", "our", or "the App") is a personal expedition safety and trail tracking application developed by Mandav Consultancy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

- Email address — for account creation and login

- GPS coordinates — collected during active trips for trail tracking
- Background location — collected when a trip is active, even when the app is in the background
- Location accuracy and elevation — for telemetry logging
Important: Location data is only collected when you have an active trip running. We do not track your location when no trip is active.
2.3 User-Generated Content
- Trip details — title, start/end points, dates
- Trail logs — notes, photos, videos, audio recordings
- Morning and closing day notes

- Battery level — sent with location pings for safety monitoring
- Device type and OS version — for compatibility and debugging

4. Data Security & Encryption
End-to-End Encryption: Your journal entries and path data logs are encrypted end-to-end. Compliance Vault decryption is only available when a live SOS signal is broadcasting during emergency protocols.
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted storage for sensitive trail data
- Secure token-based authentication
- No plain-text storage of passwords
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Emergency contacts — Location shared only when you trigger an SOS alert
- Google Sign-In — Authentication only; we receive your name and email
- Cloud hosting — Data stored on secure servers for sync functionality
We do not use any advertising SDKs or share data with advertisers.
6. Data Retention
- Trip data is retained as long as your account is active
- You can delete individual trips from within the app
- Account deletion removes all associated data from our servers
- Offline cached data is stored locally on your device only

You have the right to:
- Access — View all data we have about you
- Correction — Update your profile and trip information
- Deletion — Delete your account and all associated data
- Portability — Request a copy of your data
- Withdraw consent — Revoke location permissions at any time via device settings
8. Children's Privacy
Secure Trips is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
